EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK:
It is normal to expect a journalist to write everyday because that is part of his/her job. However if a successful, national businessman, who heads many large companies, writes everyday for one whole year….?!
“Impressive, …..I read Mr. Probosutedjo’s writings everyday”, said a few cabinet ministers, high ranking officers and legislators, members of the armed forces, regional heads, politicians and entrepreneurs. Several experts and scholars have, not only, quoted his works in the rubric of his book ‘Ngudhar Roso Mulat Sariro’, they have also brought them for discussions in seminars. They said, “Only Mr. Probosutedjo has the guts to write like that”.
The general editor of the newspapers ‘Berita Buana’, H. Wibowo, explained that there were many people who liked Mr. Probosutedjo’s writings so much that if they did not read them for one day they would feel something was amiss. Mr. Probosutedjo’s critiques, comments and puns are all constructive because of his love for his government, public officials, the armed forces and the people. He reveals what is in his heart and the hearts of the Indonesian people so that the public officials, the wealthy entrepreneurs and every single Indonesian citizen is aware that the development objective must be carried out in accordance to the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila (The Five National Philosophies).
“Many letters from the readers of Berita Buana newspaper have asked for an anthology of his writings and many have also called to ask for the same”, said Bambang Suroso, the rubric administrator. Most of the letters demonstrate Mr. Probosutedjo’s writings as being successful in disclosing and raising issues which would otherwise be regarded as taboo by many people. Due to the boldness of ‘Ngudhar Roso’ in revealing the hearts of the Indonesian people as well as of the ‘little people’, candor is garnered, democracy is elevated, SDSB was finally abandoned, poverty elimination is discussed by people, IDT gets implemented, the national conference of Kadin (Indonesian Chamber of Commerce) becomes the arena for democratic expression, and progressive taxes are introduced. Even Mr. AA Baramuli quoted Mr. Probosutedjo’s writings in his bad credits disclosure which was then followed by the conviction of Mr. Tan Tjoe Hong alias Mr. Eddy Tansil in the court of law. At the same time the rest of the wealthy people become more scrutinized by the general public.
